The length of a chimney cleaning depends on several factors, including the size of your chimney, the type of fuel you burn, and the amount of buildup inside your chimney. Typically, a chimney cleaning takes between 30 minutes to an hour. However, if there is a significant amount of buildup or if repairs are needed, it may take longer. Our professional chimney sweeps will provide a more accurate estimate of the time needed to clean your chimney during the inspection process.
You do not necessarily need to be present during the chimney cleaning, but we recommend that someone is available to provide access to your home and to answer any questions that the chimney sweep may have. If you are unable to be present during the cleaning, we can arrange for a time that is convenient for you to access your home. Our goal is to ensure that your chimney is cleaned and maintained safely and efficiently, with as little disruption to your schedule as possible.
Level 1 inspections are for chimneys with no change since the last inspection date.
Level 2 inspections are required when buying/selling a home or if there is any change to the chimney or in the fuel source.
Level 3 inspections are required when a hazard has been suspected with the chimney. This inspection is the most comprehensive and will require the removal of certain components of the chimney.
It is required to get your chimney inspected at least once a year. According to the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) code 211.14.2, "Chimneys, fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances."
